As a special treat, we decided to spend one night at a beachfront hotel, the Moana Surfrider, one of the original hotels. We booked a standard garden view room, but because of my Marriott membership, we got upgraded to a beachfront room in the original part of the hotel.
The views though the shutters were amazing, and being able to fall also e listening to the water on the beach was blissful. The status also included access to the Beach Club, which is Moana Surfrider’s club lounge. The food was ok, the price was free, so you can’t beat that.
Afterwards we headed to Ala Moana for more shopping, especially the clearance stores like Saks off Fifth Avenue. Great prices, Karl Lagerfield leather jackets, original $650, down to $132USD.
We then checked out the Lokahi Festival, a bloc party right outside our hotel, with 25,000 people attending! It was nice to walk around, mostly food stalls, and souvenir shopping. Even saw some street rappers.
